This project aims to develop Aemulus VR, a virtual platform that brings the origin stories of handmade crafts to life. By converting 2D images into 3D models, users will experience immersive VR journeys, exploring the creation and heritage of items like rugs, watches, and knives from around the world. The objective is to enhance customer connection with these crafts, countering the decline in traditional handicrafts by showcasing their history and production process.
We are looking for developers skilled in VR technologies, 3D modeling, and machine learning, particularly in view synthesis techniques like NeRF and Gaussian Splatting. A passion for cultural heritage and craftsmanship, coupled with a commitment of 3-4 hours per week, is essential. The project offers a chance to innovate in VR storytelling and e-commerce, preserving the legacy of handmade products through engaging, virtual narratives.
